If you're still against enabling HTTPS filtering, I'd recommend uninstalling AdGuard for Windows/Mac/Android and using a browser extension-based ad blocker instead. If you're worried about specific sites being filtered (like your work sites), just add those domains to the HTTPS exclusions in Settings > Network section and it won't filter them. However AdGuard for Windows/Mac/Android are not browser extensions, nor do they use any browser extension APIs to do any sort of ad blocking, so to filter HTTPS the AG certificate needs to be installed and HTTPS filtering has to be enabled. Browser extension-based ad blockers like uBlock Origin rely on the browser's extensions API to filter websites, including HTTPS. uBlock Origin may be more capable, but its lacks any GUI thats easy for everyone. It has no ad blocking capabilities on its own.īlaz is right, to block Google ads you'll need to enable HTTPS filtering. Why I believe Adguard ad-blocker browser extension is better than uBlock Origin: User friendly. Safe AdGuard Ad Blocker is a perfect remover of annoying ads: banners, pop-ups and video ads.
